Thank-you Krista. I wanted to design a full class tutorial packed with many details to guide the viewer through each step. I hope it helps many new students in this art form.
Linda, the tutorial is the best I’ve seen yet. I’m going to have to try your method soon. It’s very close to how I already create mine but with a few differences. Maybe your method will work even better for me than what mine does! Thanks bunches for creating such a wonderful tutorial! You’re awesome!
WOW! You did it! This is the best ever, I knew it would be. I think this may be what I have been waiting for.
I do believe the bug is back.
THANK YOU LINDA!!!!!!
I can’t wait to try this.
I hit a button that did not allow me to complet the previous comment so if you didn’t recieve it here it is in a nut shell. Love your face tutorial and your use of glass beads for eyes. Would like to know if you use glass paints to paint them with.
Sorry for the goof of the previous post.
Janfinet, I’m glad you’re enjoying the face tutorial. The eyes are painted in acrylics and then sealed with a high quality gloss varnish adding a realistic shine to the finished eye.
ESTOY ALUCINADA NO CREI QUE ME IBA A SORPRENDER, DESDE LA MUSICA PORQUE CIERRO LOS OJOS Y PARECE QUE ESTA REALMENTE DANZANDO UNA DE ELLAS, MIL FELICITACIONES Y GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR TUS ENSEÑANZAS.
I actually live in the kansas city area, and i am a 15 year old beginner doll maker. I was wondering if you could tell where it is that you buy your glass beads, and mohair.
i forgot to note i would like to know what type of paint you use because i having been looking for genesis heat set paints but i can not find them at any store.
Andrea, it’s always good to meet another dollmaker from Kansas City!
Glass beads can be purchased online from http://www.firemountaingems.com or from any vendor on eBay by searching glass round beads white.
The pre-dyed mohair I use can be purchased from Mini World Doll supplies in Blue Springs, MO. or from their website http://www.miniworlddolls.com
Unfortunately, most of our Hobby Lobby’s and JoAnn’s here in KC discontinued the Genesis Paints. Sample starter kits can be found on eBay which is more cost effective when starting out. Full pots can be purchased directly from the Genesis site which can be a bit expensive: http://www.genesisartistcolors.com
